Adult Therapy

Therapy should be treated as a safe space to confide in a professional who can help you find insight into problematic patterns of behavior, increase your ability to take perspective, and understand how previous life experiences shape who you are today. My style with working with adults involves creating a warm and caring therapeutic relationship that is built on trust, an easygoing feel, and sincerity.

In my work with adult patients I create a safe, judgment-free space through empathy, compassion, and objectivity, where they can freely process their feelings and begin the path to change. My style is psychodynamic, and I use a collaborative approach to try to understand the root of the problem, the problem itself, and then support my patients to create a plan on how to address the problem in the most effective way.

Together we can figure out what might be getting in the way of you having the life that you hope for but struggle to achieve.

Here are some of the topics that I frequently talk about with my clients:

  • Anxiety

  • Depression

  • PTSD

  • Dating

  • Relationship Issues

  • Substance Abuse

  • Career Changes

  • Family Conflict

  • Low Self Esteem

  • Life Adjustments

  • Body Image

  • Work Stress

  • Boundaries

  • Sexuality

  • Social Anxiety

  • Anger

I have been seeing Emmy for a few years, and I cannot say enough good things about her. She is warm, easy to open up to, and empathetic. She has helped me to reframe my thinking in multiple areas of my life and really helps me understand and work through any issue I may be having. I always feel seen and safe during my sessions, and I truly feel like Emmy has helped me grow over the time we have been working together. - HP
