Family Therapy

The family is an ever-changing system. I often like to work with the whole family, as I see the identified patient as someone who is operating within an ecology. I will observe the dynamics within these relationships and work with the family to improve their communication and problem-solving skills to address the underlying issues.

Some common concerns with familes that can be successfully addressed in therapy include:

  • Behavioral problems in children or teens

  • Changes within the family

  • Communication problems

  • Death of loved one

  • Divorce, separation, or marital problems

  • Parent-child conflicts

  • Problems between siblings

  • Parenting issues

  • Stressful events or major life transitions

  • Trauma

I worked with Emmy for four years, and she helped me navigate a divorce, dating again, multiple career changes, and the unexpected passing of my father. I'm so grateful for her warmth, kindness and responsiveness. - AB
